Strolling Through SoHo in a Denim Romper

It’s difficult not to look like a car repairman when wearing a denim romper. If the fit is too lose and the design too plain, the look can quickly shift from playful to silly. So if you’re looking for that perfect denim romper, here’s what I suggest. The silhouette is super important when choosing the right piece so make sure it flatters your figure. A romper that cinches at the waist is a great option. Keep in mind the length of the shorts and the cut of the sleeve as well, and choose what’s best for your body. Stylish details like stitching and buttons can help elevate the look as well.

This J.Crew denim romper has just the right fit to be this versatile. I love the detail in the stitching, the oversized pockets, and the waist-defining band. It’s the perfect one-piece to throw on for everyday errands. Toss a sweater over it and it transitions for fall, or add some heels and statement jewelry and you’re ready for a night out. I paired mine with some minimalist sandals, my go-to camera bag, and some simple jewelry to allow the romper to really stand out. Take a look at the full outfit below (and thanks, Christine, for taking the photos!).
