Exploring Mill Valley

Exploring Mill Valley

Thank you to Zappos for sponsoring this post.

Now that I’ve been living in San Francisco for seven years (with a quick stint in NYC), I’ve been eager to explore the surrounding Bay Area. Just across the Golden Gate Bridge, past the untouched Marin Headlands, lies an adorable town called Mill Valley. What feels like a ski town nestled in the tall redwoods, Mill Valley is just twenty minutes from the city. You feel like you’re on vacation with the beautiful views, yet you’re not far from civilization at all. In fact, downtown Mill Valley is a haven for trendy boutiques and restaurants. Needless to say, this is my favorite place in all of the Bay Area.

When exploring Mill Valley, like any part of the Bay Area, it’s important to wear comfortable shoes and layers. You may go from a hike to brunch to shopping within a couple hours, so you want to dress right! I wore these insanely comfortable (and incredibly light-weight) Timberland boots for a day of exploring. They’re currently 30% off right now on Zappos and come in other colors! For a fun spring look, I paired my boots with this denim dress and a light layer. So, let’s take a tour of some of my favorite spots, shall we?

Coffee at Equator

When you first enter the downtown area of Mill Valley, perhaps after a quick hike through Muir Woods, you have to stop at Equator for some coffee and a waffle. Yup, a waffle. They make the most insane sweet and savory waffles. I love grabbing a Vanilla Latte, and their classic waffle with honey butter, and people watching on their outdoor bench!

Shop at Carolina

Once you’ve got your coffee, head on over to Carolina for some shopping! Literally, everything in there has that California boho vibe that I just love. Even the decor is fresh and modern. You’ll definitely be walking out with some goodies!

Lunch at Playa

On your way to lunch, stop by Summer House for some major home decor inspo! I seriously want to live in this store. There are so many fun textures, vintage rugs, and beautiful furniture to swoon over. Once you’ve gotten your fill, head just a couple storefronts over and grab lunch at Playa!

Pick Up Some Flowers

Before heading back home, don’t forget to stop across the street at the cutest little flower stand for a fresh bouquet. These blue hydrangeas were calling my name!
