When it comes to updating my wardrobe for fall, boots are the first thing I go for. As you all know, I have quite an obsession with ankle boots. Well I think my obsession has just grown into an addiction. With all of the new boot trends this season, my shoe collection is seriously getting out of control (I blame my mom…it’s genetic, right?). Since they are my go-to shoe for the colder months, it only makes sense to stock up and have options. And after online “window” shopping and Pinterest exploring, I’ve discovered some new boot trends this season that I’m super excited for.

Cut-Out Booties
I’ve been a huge fan of the cut-out bootie since this past spring, and I love seeing how the trend is transitioning into fall. While the weather is still manageable, try a peep-toe option. Once it gets cold, try a more subtle cut-out. I love how the straps and buckles add a touch of edge to the booties.

Over-the-knee Boots
I was never really a fan of over-the-knee boots until this season. They are a difficult trend to style and can often look cheap (think Pretty Woman). But seeing them styled in a chic, modern way made me want a pair (or two) badly! You just need to make sure you choose a pair that looks expensive and not too sexy, like the options I included above.

Textured Booties
Fall and winter is the perfect time to play with different textures. Leather pants and intricate knits tend to fill our closets, so why not bring that fun mix of texture into our shoes? Try suede, calf hair, or even crocodile. Keep the silhouette and color classic and let the texture speak for itself.

LOVE the over-the-knee boots with jeans, a white tee and a cardigan – soo simple but so cute! I love the textured boots too (and I like cut-out but I wouldn’t invest much money in them since they’ll probably only be in for one season).

I’m really loving all of the ones you suggested! I haven’t bought a pair of over-the-knee boots yet because I agree that they can look too sexy for everyday wear. I think I need to invest in a pair that are flat.
