When it comes to hair products, I’m not one to spend a ton of money. There are so many great options at the drugstore that investing in a $100 shampoo just doesn’t seem worth it. After years of trying product after product at various drugstores, I’ve finally nailed down my routine and rounded up 6 of my must-have drugstore hair products – all under $10!
Shampoo & Conditioner
While I’ve always been a fan of the Pantene’s and Garnier Fructis’ of the world, the one shampoo & conditioner combo I’ve found to be the most consistent is the Aussie Moist Shampoo & Conditioner. Other drugstore shampoo & conditioners tend to do a great job on my hair for a few weeks, but then I find myself switching to a new combination because the results don’t last. This Aussie duo has become a staple of mine because it consistently keeps my hair moisturized and super soft.
Deep Conditioning Treatment
It’s always good to treat your hair to a deep conditioner every couple of weeks. Since my hair responds so well to the Aussie product line, I tried the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Moist Deeeeep Conditioner and it worked wonders. If your hair has been through a lot of styling or over drying in the sun, this product is great for renewing that moisture.
Argon Oil
While there are tons of Argon Oils out there, this Organix Renewing Moroccan Argon Oil is a great drugstore option. I love that it’s light weight and doesn’t weight down your hair. Put in just a drop after you’ve towel dried your hair, style it, and you’ve got the softest, shiniest hair you’ve had in years.
Heat Protective Spray
I’m a huge fan of protecting your hair from hot tools whenever possible. I use either a hair dyer, straightener, or curling iron just about everyday so having that added protection makes me feel less guilty. I’ve been using this Tresemme Thermal Creations Heat Tamer Protective Spray for years. The spray bottle allows for the perfect application of product – not too much or too little. Plus, it smells delicious which is always a plus.
Hairspray
This is one product you must try out of all 6 I’m recommending. This product revolutionizes hairspray. Most hairsprays leave your hair stiff, sticky, and smelling like toxins. Dove’s Style + Care Hairspray is a whole other story. First of all, it smells lovely – a vanilla and floral scent. Second of all, it holds your hairstyle just as well as those stiff hairsprays but leaves it looking and feeling soft and shiny. I seriously don’t know how it’s possible but it’s amazing.
De-Frizz Finishing Creme
A product I’ve used since high school, John Frieda’s Frizz-Ease Secret Weapon Flawless Finishing Creme is a miracle. Once you’ve finished styling your hair, add just a tiny dollup of this product to your hands, rub them together and smooth them over the top of your hair, the ends, and throughout. Just the tiniest amount does wonders. I’ve literally had the same bottle for years. It’s perfect for making those dead ends look smooth and for touching up that inevitable frizz.

I love my Dove hairspray. It smells so yummy, and doesn’t leave my hair sticky (which I hate!).

Totally agree on the Tresemme Heat Protective Spray – it smells SO good. And like you, I use some type of hot tool on my poor hair everyday! I’ve never tried the Dove Hairspray, but have always wanted to. Right now I use John Frieda’s Volumizing Hairspray in the blue bottle. It’s been a dream.

I love the argan oil and I’ve used the 3 minute miracle before and loved it! For the summer I’m really into dry shampoo and I love Suaves Keratin Infusion dry shampoo. It smells great and does a wonderful job at lifting my roots and I really like Tresemme split remedy leave in treatment. I’ve found that it really does extend the time that it takes for me to go back in for a trim! Great article!

Garnier Fructise Leave-in Conditioner is another great one!

I really like the product recommendations, but I don’t understand how one can repeatedly misspell argan oil when it’s clearly written on the bottle you were indicating.

My reaction to this article:
Me, the chemist, laughing hysterically at “argon” oil!

Valves are devices designed to regulate the flow of fluids (including gases) by opening, closing, or partially obstructing passageways in pipes. Valves have extensive application over numerous industries – for this reason they vary widely in size, form and materials used depending on what they are going to be used for. They can be relatively simple, or they can be complex – in which case excellent design is critical to how well they work.

For me the GKhair ThermalStyleHer rocks. Great against heat prior to styling. It seals moisture into the hair making each hair strong and healthy before blow drying to protect it from burning and frying. Love this heat protectant very much. :) <3
