7 Things to Do When You’re Stressed
posted on November 15, 2012 | by Amanda Holstein
1. Blast Music | While you’re getting ready for work or just sitting at your desk, blast that music like you’re 13 again listening to Dashboard Confessional.
2. Workout | Although it’s often the last thing I want to do when stressed or in a bad mood, sometimes taking it all out on the stair master just feels so good. Plus you feel ten times better afterwards.
3. Shop | While many might tell you this is a bad idea, I say do it. Go to Madewell, get that leather skirt you can’t stop thinking about. (Maybe set yourself a quick budget so you don’t go crazy), and enjoy. That’s guaranteed happiness right there.
4. Take a Walk | Wherever you are, the best thing to do is to take a break and get yourself out of the environment that’s stressing you out. Go grab coffee or some fresh squeezed juice, or just walk for the heck of it. It’s a great way to distract yourself.
5. Pamper | Whether it’s painting your nails, wearing a face mask, or getting a quick hand massage at a nearby salon, a little bit of pampering is good for the soul.
6. Buy Yourself Flowers | It’s not pathetic, it’s proactive. The act of picking out flowers, putting them in a vase, and setting them next to you can be really satisfying. I swear!
7. Chocolate! | Just eat the damn chocolate. Milk chocolate. If you’re gonna indulge, indulge.
What do you do when you’re stressed out?

These are perfect tips…I do most of them, even if I’m not stressed (let’s just say I’m preventing stress, shall we?). I definitely need to plan a walk more, though. I rarely leave my desk at work!

Playing a musical instrument. Banging on the drums to your favorite song feels pretty good, a bonus if it actually sounds good.
Playing video games. There is nothing quite as satisfying as playing a little Halo 4 and killing bad guys, protecting mankind from extinction.
Much Love.

I get in the kitchen or make my boyfriend give me a neck rub, if he’s home of course! I find measuring ingredients very therapeutic.

Love these all! I have to say numbers 2, 3 and 4 are my go to stress relievers! I do also set a budget if I set out on a shopping trip when stressed too… It’s smart to do because it could get very easy to over do it and then you get even more down on yourself! Great list!

I do ALL of those but I also find cooking to be very relaxing. I like to crank up the music, pour a glass of wine, find a recipe to try and then get lost in the steps.

Yes, these are good tips for dealing with stress. But under severe stress, this is unlikely to calm the nerves. When I’m stressed, I prefer to find some simple activity, leisure that doesn’t require a lot of involvement, but at the same time helps to get a good distraction. For example, online games and boy games. Spending this time in the virtual world, and not in the real one, it is easier to distract myself from what is bothering me and finally relieve stress.

When I’m stressed, which is often related to my work, I prefer to come home and play some games. Moreover, now it’s not only video games or online games like cs go or rust, but also something new https://hellagood.marketing/rust-gambling/ . I think it’s cool that now there are such interesting options as a combination of rust and gambling, and for fans of rust this could be a really great solution.
