Summer Staple: Classic Shorts and Tees

There’s something about classic Americana style that always reminds me of summer. Today I teamed up with Macy’s to create a look inspired by American Icons, perfect for any summer outing. I chose to put together an outfit using my summer essentials: shorts and tees. Classic denim shorts paired with a simple tee is a must-have for summer and is iconically American in my mind.

Pair your denim cut-offs with a classic red, white and blue combo. Choose a loose tee (I like to buy mine up a size), and tuck just the front into your denim shorts.  The half-tuck creates a cool, casual vibe perfect for a laid back summer. Then add some personal touches, like brown leather sandals, your favorite sunglasses, and a belt. Making the look your own while keeping it simple and classic is what truly makes it Americana style.
