My Favorite Subtle Lipsticks
posted on March 17, 2014 | by Amanda Holstein
As you’ve probably noticed, I’ve never really been one to rock a bold lip. I love the look on other people, but since glam isn’t really my style, I tend to go for more subtle options. And since every girl loves to swipe on lipstick, I had to find some options that were just the right shade. After much trial and error, I’ve found a few shades that are perfect for us more casual girls. Soft taupes, pinkish nudes, and even a light coral are all on my go-to list for subtle lipsticks. Check out my favorites below!
Tory Burch “Pas du Tout” – How stunning is that packaging? And the color is the perfect pinkish nude.
Sephora Collection Rouge Cream Lipstick in “Seduce” – A pretty pastel pink that goes perfectly with a touch of gloss.
bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lipstick in “Be Free” – A soft nude you can wear everyday.
bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lipstick in “Go the Distance” – This light coral is perfect when you want just a bit more color, without going too bold.

Thanks for sharing your lip color choices! I am 42, and I’ve tried bold lips at several stages of my life, but I’ve never left the house with it, lol. While it’s fun to try a new lip color, I am certain that bold just does not mix well with my personal style. I am very excited to try the colors you’ve suggested.

I’ve been looking for a nude coloured lipstick for ages and I’m going to have to try out that bare minerals one! I love the first one too :)
Any suggestions on how to choose a colour that suits your skin tone (instead of just wearing whatever’s on trend at the moment?) I want to start playing around with lip colours but I don’t really know how to pick one (I know I could ask the assistant to match me but I’d also like a bit of knowledge myself).
