How to Add Stylish Touches to Your Home
posted on March 27, 2014 | by Amanda Holstein
You don’t have to have expensive things to make an apartment look pulled together and styled. There are a few little tricks you can do to style your home in an affordable and simple way. From how you put together your bookshelf to what you put on your coffee table, the smallest things can have a big impact on the look and feel of your apartment. Here are a few super simple tricks that can make your apartment feel styled and complete.
The Rule of Three
Grouping things together in threes is a little trick that interior designers use all the time. Whether it’s as simple as your nail polish on display or pairing different size candles together, grouping them in threes helps make them look like they were placed with purpose.
Put Things On Books
Pile up your larger books and magazines on your coffee table, bookshelf, or bedside table and add a pretty decor piece on top. This is a great way to add some style to your apartment and it’s super simple. If your tables look bare, just add this trick and they’ll look perfectly styled.
Backwards Books
You may have a ton of books to fill your bookshelf with, but not all of them have pretty covers that you want to display. The easiest solution is to turn a bunch of books backwards. The raw pages give your apartment a casual, rustic feel that I just love.
Lean Your Picture Frames
When you rent an apartment, avoiding putting nails in your wall is always a priority. Instead, try leaning framed photos against the wall for a unique look. Put larger ones right on the floor, or pair a few together (the rule of three works here!) on a side table or console.
Put Stuff in Bowls
Display pretty things like nail polishes, seashells, or matches in bowls for an easy way to add some style to your apartment. It’s a great alternative to buying random pieces of home decor when you can just use what you already have!
Lay Throw Pillows on Throw Blankets
Rather than stuffing your throw blankets in your closet or cabinets, display them on your couches and chairs. Just add a pretty throw pillow over them to complete the look.

When decorating the interior, it is important to ensure that the sizes of individual items correspond to the dimensions of the entire room. Thus, massive statues or chandeliers are not suitable for a small room, as they will visually make it even smaller. Fortunately, thanks to the abundance of the market, you can choose an option for every taste and budget. I advise you to read more about modern Ukrainian design here https://faina.design/
