First of all…can anyone say cobblestone?? I’m so excited to start shooting in New York with the amazing scenery and iconic cobblestone streets. There are so many little nooks and crannies of this massive city and I plan to include it all in as many posts as I can. So get excited!
Anyway, on to maxi dresses. Many people have trouble styling the maxi dress for daytime because they’re so bold and dramatic. Their long length reminds people of gowns, so it’s easy to look overdone. But there are some tricks to dressing down this trend that every girl should know. Start off with a versatile maxi dress, like the one I’m wearing from Madewell (which is now on sale!). Accessories are your friend here. Choose pieces that make the look more casual. Go for a long pendant instead of a statement necklace, a leather minibag as opposed to a clutch, and casual flat sandals rather than strappy heels. Sunglasses are a key day piece, so definitely finish off your look with the perfect pair. I’m obsessed with these because they actually fit my small face!

I love a good maxi dress! Have been looking for more fitted silhouettes because I’ve been finding overly flowy ones. Would love your suggestions!
