Thanksgiving Outfit for Dressy or Casual Gatherings
posted on November 21, 2016 | by Amanda Holstein
We all have our own traditions when it comes to Thanksgiving. Some families go traditional with mashed potatoes and green beans while others eat coleslaw (no, seriously, we do that). Some spend days prepping and cooking while others eat out. And some families have a more formal get-together while others like to keep it casual. Personally, I love a Thanksgiving outfit that can work for both. My solution to the dressy or casual Thanksgiving is the sweater dress. It’s cozy, it’s seasonal, and it can easily be dressed up or down.
I paired my gray sweater dress with over-the-knee boots to create a versatile look that could still work for both dressy or casual occasions. I love the mix of textures and how incredibly comfortable the outfit is (for stuffing your face with pumpkin pie). To take this Thanksgiving outfit up a notch, I’d swap out the tall boots for black ankle boots with a slim heel and black tights. I’d add some sparkle with statement earrings and trade out my bucket bag for a sleek clutch. For those of you in colder climates, finish the look off with a classic wool coat.

you look amazing Amanda and again you absolutely meet my taste with this look!
may I ask how tall are you?
I’d love to invest in some quality overknee boots like yours, but I am a very petite seized one so couldn’t find well fitting overknees yet. any suggestions?

Oh this is such a great dress! I love it the whole outfit too. You’ve reminded me that a little grey dress is a huge hole in my wardrobe; it’s such a practical garment you can wear for so many different occasions. Miranda xxx http://mirandasnotebook.com/
